Many of the tips you learned in sales presentation training required to effectively address executive customers can also be applied when you need to present to and persuade your own CEO.
- Start with your conclusion. In other words, begin with your overall summary. Your CEO will appreciate your focus on the bottom line and will ask, if interested, for more details as you proceed.
- Keep it short and concise. Your CEO does not have the time or patience for a slow pace or lengthy explanations. CEOs do not hesitate to interrupt for clarification or substantiation when it suits them.
- Be ready with backup information and a summary handout. You may be asked for proof of your conclusions; have the data ready. Your appointment may be cut short; have a one-page handout of your main points for your CEO to review later.
