Designing Slides for Your Sales Presentation

Do you need to be a graphic artist to design effective slides for your sales presentation? Nope. You just need to follow a few sales presentation training best practice guidelines:

1. Keep It Short and Simple. Slides should be understood by all in your audience.

2. Don’t Use Too Many. More is not better.

3. Make Good Use of the Titles. Be consistent in style and use titles to state the main subject, action or conclusions desired.

4. Limit Bullets to the 5X5 Rule. Use a maximum of 5 bullet points and 5 words per bullet.

5. Choose Your Words Carefully. Quickly communicate each point with the “right” word.

6. Be Consistent. Capitalize just the first word in each point to avoid a “busy” look.

7. Plan a Quarter to Half Inch Margin all around.

8. Choose One Transition Effect. Then use it throughout.

9. Number Your Slides.

10. Use a Final “End” Slide. Your logo perhaps?

11. Turn Off Any Screen Saver.
