The
public speaking professionals make it look so easy.
They
seem totally relaxed and spontaneous. They capture the audience’s attention and
never let it go. The audience is putty in their hands. Wouldn’t you just love
to be as persuasive and skilled when you next give a sales presentation?
Here
are 2 big tips from the pros…those who specialize in sales presentation
training.
- Rehearse, rehearse, rehearse. It turns out that the more you practice, the more spontaneous you can be. It seems counterintuitive. But if you are delivering the presentation for the first time, your body language gives you away. Your nervousness will broadcast a first time delivery. Think instead of how actors prepare. They practice their lines many times before they step on stage. They have learned that thorough rehearsing results in a much more natural delivery.
- Commit the content and body language to memory. Do not memorize line-by-line…just your opening and closing with a clear outline of what you want to cover in the middle. When you gain confidence in what you want to say, you will reclaim the freedom to be expressive.
