3 Proven Tips to Better Connect with Your Audience

Speaking presents an extraordinary opportunity to persuade and influence your audience. Here are three proven tips from sales presentation training experts:
  1. Minimize the number of slides. Then minimize what each slide says. You should be the focus of the audience attention. Think of how you feel when you are subjected to a series of PowerPoint slides (groan) and act accordingly.  Only include the most compelling and important content from the perspective of your audience.  Less is more.
  2. Use authentic stories to illustrate your points…personal and heartfelt anecdotes are far more effective and memorable than pure statistics. 
  3. Involve the audience. The more interaction…the better. If you can design some engaging and relevant exercises every 10-20 minutes that illustrate the concepts you want your listeners to take home, try a few to mix up your act. Pure lecture does not engage or influence people to act.
