Sales Slide Presentations: Beyond Text

Drawings, animations, photos, video images, sound, and clip art can add interest to sales presentations but don't overdo it. If they don't help persuade your audience, don't use them.
Here are a few sales presentation training best practice tips:

  1. Keep drawings and diagrams simple and to the point
  2. Use clip art sparingly and only if it directly reinforces the content of your slide
  3. Compared to clip art, good photos can be enormously more appealing and more easily targeted to the audience
  4. Edit your graphic images, photos, or video clips to the size or resolution you desire before inserting them
  5. Use sound to make a point but perform a sound check before the audience arrives
Re-create from scratch the content you want to use in slides, even when it already exists in another application format. For example, you may need to display only the relevant portion of a table, not the whole spreadsheet.
