Speaking
presents an extraordinary opportunity to persuade and influence your audience.
Here are three proven tips from sales presentation training experts:
- Minimize the number of slides. Then minimize what each slide says. You should be the focus of the audience attention. Think of how you feel when you are subjected to a series of PowerPoint slides (groan) and act accordingly. Only include the most compelling and important content from the perspective of your audience. Less is more.
- Use authentic stories to illustrate your points…personal and heartfelt anecdotes are far more effective and memorable than pure statistics.
- Involve the audience. The more interaction…the better. If you can design some engaging and relevant exercises every 10-20 minutes that illustrate the concepts you want your listeners to take home, try a few to mix up your act. Pure lecture does not engage or influence people to act.
